Woodbridge

Woodbridge, Virginia, is located 20 miles south of Washington D.C. It’s right off of I-95 and Route One, making it a great spot to live for commuters. Woodbridge is the perfect suburban escape from the bustling city of Washington D.C. Beautifully bounded by the Potomac and the Occoquan River, you have lots of fresh water to gaze at when out and about in the parks or exercising on one of the many hiking trails.

Woodbridge is a diverse community for all ages and all kinds of people. With all the fun activities they host like bowling, escape rooms, laser tag, mini-golf, it’s a community that is sure to keep you and your family busy. In Woodbridge, you get the best of both worlds with beautiful wildlife, hiking trails, and top tier shopping!

Leesylvania State Park is located on the Potomac River and offers swimming, boating, picnic, and hiking services. With the most beautiful forestry trails you can imagine, it’s the perfect way to decompress and take care of your physical health, and your inner peace. You can have a cozy picnic with your family and go for a hiking adventure. You can boat around the Potomac in style or you can hop into the water yourself and take a nice swim to cool off.

Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge is one of Woodbridge’s most breathtaking destinations and is sure to make you fall in love with it as soon as you lay your eyes on it. Made up of over 600 acres of wetlands, grasslands, and forests, it creates an efficient habitat for over a hundred different species of fish, birds, and butterflies. It’s great for educational purposes as well being filled with beautiful sights to clear the mind. Visitors can also enjoy cycling and hiking on designated trails!

However, if the outdoorsy life isn’t for you, you’re still in luck, as Woodbridge is home to Potomac Mills Shopping Mall, one of the largest malls in the Northern Virginia area, and trust us, that is saying a lot! You can get your retail therapy with more than 200 stores, including but not limited to, Marshalls, Victoria’s Secret, TJ Maxx, Pandora, Calvin Klein, Foot Locker, JC Penny and H&M. Shop til you drop, and then head to the AMC movie theater, located right in the mall, and put your feet up as you relax in one of their luxury recliners. Then, if you happened to work up your appetite with all that shopping, and somehow didn’t pig out on popcorn, they also offer many restaurants to dine in! Have a caribbean meal at Bahama Breeze, a juicy burger at Bar Louie or a steak grilled to perfection at Firebirds Wood Fire Grill! But if none of that sounds good to you, don’t fret because there’s a lot more where that came from!

Woodbridge is also close to Old Town Alexandria, which has the most extensive collection of independent boutiques in the DMV. With Queen Street, Princess Street a couple cobblestone roads and some of the most unique townhomes you’ll ever lay eyes on, you’ll feel like you’re straight out of a fairytale in this beautiful downtown area. You can take the trolley down king street (which is free by the way) and find your new favorite restaurant on the water. The Chart House, selling delicious crab cakes and all your other seafood needs, is a favorite amongst Old Town, located right on the Potomac River.

Finally, the best news about Woodbridge for any families looking to move to the area are their schools! Having access to Prince William County is an advantage as they have a teacher student ratio of 16 to 1, a highly diverse student population, and great college readiness programs. Some highly rated schools in the Woodbridge area are Minnieville Elementary School, E.H. Marstellar Middle School, Patriot High School, and Battlefield High School.

As you can see, living in Woodbridge is an experience you will be absolutely elated to be a part of.
