Dear Prospective Homebuyer,
When we first moved back to the area we rented in Burke and searched and searched for the perfect home and lot. We only searched South Run since we knew this special community would be perfect to raise our children. South Run has always been dear to me. I grew up locally and had friends who lived in South Run throughout high school and now two of my best friends that I have known since kindergarten live in the community. This short time in South Run over the last year has been amazing to see my children live so close to the swimming pool and basketball courts.
When we first drove by the home we knew it was special. The offset from the street provides a grand entry and added privacy for this luxury home. As we walked the lot and backyard we knew that we could not duplicate this lot in the community. The quiet enjoyment from the custom deck with a walk down to the stone patio can be enjoyed in all seasons. The mixture of open play area and wooded paradise provided the perfect backdrop for family gatherings and times of relaxation. We purchased this home less than a year ago.
This was to be our dream home, the one we would raise our children in for the next 20 years. It is with sadness and difficulty that we put the home on the market for sale to return to the West Coast. We need to return to California based on health conditions for my husband and the necessity to be back close to his family. When we bought the home we knew it would need major upgrading and a full redesign on the main level. This model is spacious but not fully functional. We spent over $200,000 to remodel the home and create the ultimate main level. The gourmet kitchen now spans the width of the home. The main level office and the additional bedroom downstairs has given both myself and husband the opportunity to have private space for work at home. The kids have loved the game room area on the lower level and having their own adventures in the backyard. We will miss the seasonal gatherings to everyday waves and check-ins, we’ve felt surrounded by kindness. And being just minutes from commuter routes, shopping, and the amenities of Fairfax County has made life incredibly convenient. As we prepare to pass the keys to a new owner, we hope you’ll find the same joy, peace, and sense of belonging that we’ve cherished here.
