The Ben Brenman Park is named in honor of the late Colonel Ben Brenman. Colonel Brenman contributed his time and talent as an Alexandria Community activist for over 30 years. The park features ADA accessible picnic benches and pathways, amphitheater, athletic fields (one synthetic turf rectangular), fenced lit dog park, parking, picnic pavilion with grill, playground, pond, restrooms, and walking/bicycle trails.

This beautiful 70-acre pastoral park offers a cornucopia of activities including biking, jogging, hiking, basketball, disc golf, baseball and softball fields (permit takes priority), grass fields for soccer, lacrosse or football (permit takes priority), tennis and volleyball courts, tennis court practice wall (can be rented), a school-age playground, vending machines, picnic areas, multi-use paths and natural areas with streams. 

Blue Ridge Regional Park

Blue Ridge Regional Park is located in Bluemont on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Loudoun County, Virginia. This property offers the ideal setting for an escape to the mountains for tent camping and is available by reservation only to organized youth groups, including but not limited to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church youth groups and school groups. Blue Ridge Regional Park is not open to the general public.

An outdoor pavilion overlooks the 9th and 18th greens and is the perfect backdrop for wedding ceremonies. Named for the brick kilns that used to the line the riverbank, these beehive brick kilns produced the brick used to build many of the structures in Washington D.C.

At one time the Old Carolina Road, an active north/south route during the 18th and 19th centuries  traversed through what is now Gilbert’s Corner Regional Park. The road lay along the old route once used by Native Americans in the region.

Located along the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Virginia, Sandy Run Regional Park houses the area’s scholastic rowing facility and racecourse. The facility’s three boathouses and 2,000 meter Class A racecourse provide a venue for rowing crew education, training and competitions. The boat launch and facility are open to registered crews and their personnel only. The rowing facility provides public parking and spectator seating for local and national sculling and rowing regattas.

Tinner Hill Historic Park

Encounter African American history first hand at the Tinner Hill Historic Park in Falls Church, Virginia. This park is the site of what was home to Joseph and Elizabeth Tinner, the couple who fought segregation laws after the borders of neighbouring towns were redrawn cutting directly through their thriving community. Their actions led to the first rural branch of the NAACP. Visit the park’s picnic pavilion and see the Zig Zag Monument, a sculpture that follows the original location of the segregation line.
