West Springfield, Virginia, is an area within Fairfax County with about 30,000 residents. The area is well known for being a convenient and affordable suburb of the Nation's Capital, particularly due to its proximity to the Fairfax County Parkway. It is also very close to Fort Belvoir.
Homes in the area are typically two-to-three story brick and/or siding homes with three or four bedrooms. Some are split-level.
West Springfield has lots of shopping available at the Springfield Plaza Shopping Center, and the Frontier Plaza. Those wishing to go into Washington can easily take the metro from the Franconia-Springfield station, which is accessible from many of neighborhoods thanks to a well-planned bus system (or by car, there is great parking at that station).
Favorite neighborhood eateries include Austin Grill and Milano's. Parks in the neighborhood include the Pohick Creek Stream Valley Park, Hidden Pond Park, and West Springfield Village Park.
If you're a golfer, consider membership at the Springfield Golf and Country Club, which is in the neighborhood. They also offer social memberships for those that like to dine and swim, but not necessarily golf.
