South Riding is a planned community conveniently located in the south eastern corner of Loudoun County, just on the border of Fairfax County and Prince William County, where the beautiful countryside meets the convenience of being only 30 miles west of Washington, D.C.
U.S. Route 50 and State Route 28 provide access to the Dulles/Reston/Tysons Corner technology corridors, the Vienna Metro station, and other major employment centers in Northern Virginia and the D.C. metro area. It has proximity to the Dulles International Airport, and for that reason, South Riding is also known as "Dulles South."
This family-oriented community boasts a brand new community center, three elementary schools (Hutchison, Little River, Liberty), two middle schools (Stone Hill and Mercer), and one high school (Freedom); a safety center, a skatepark, a golfers’ club and multiple daycares. The South Riding Market Center is also new to the area. Along with all of this, South Riding offers four full-sized pools open to residents, as well as three shopping centers including big name stores such as Home Depot, Giant, Bloom, and Harris Teeter, as well as various restaurants and health care facilities.
There is always something to do in the South Riding area. Beautiful historic horse towns such as Middleburg and Aldie are within minutes, and golf courses South Riding Golfers’ Club and Pleasant Valley offer a pleasant and serene rural golfing experience. There are four movie theaters located within 20 minutes of South Riding.
