Great Falls
Great Falls is a community located on the Potomac River, in northern Fairfax County. The beautiful Great Falls Park encompasses the community and is a popular tourist attraction in the warmer months, but best of all, it gives the area a very scenic backdrop. The community holds several events year-round for many holidays: Easter, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas and more.
Fairfax County Public Schools serve the community, which includes three elementary schools (Great Falls, Forestville, Colvin Run), one middle school (Cooper) and one high school (Langley). The county also operates a branch of the public library system in Great Falls.
The Great Falls area is home to many beautiful golf courses and country clubs, including the nearby River Bend Country Club, Trump National Golf Club, and Hidden Creek Country Club. Local favorite shops and eateries include Deli Italiano, Tavern at Great Falls, Falls Salon, Maison du Vin, Cathy's Corner and Old Brogue Irish Pub.
Although there is no Metro stop located within the boundaries of the community, the Dunn Loring and West Falls Church stations on the Orange Line are both within minutes, allowing for easy and convenient trips to and from the nation’s capital for dining, shopping, nightlife and entertainment opportunities.
