Dolphin Tale Synopsis: Based off a true story. I was amazed to see how many quality actors are in this movie: Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick, Ashley Judd and many more... It does look to be a heart warming story

Conan Synopsis: Yet another remake of an original. This looks like it will be filled with action and more than likely the same plot line.

I am not much for the "chain" restaurants but the Great American Restaurants bring a different flavor.

The story of Great American Restaurants began in 1974 when Randy Norton and Jim Farley opened a pizza place in Fairfax City, Virginia. Mike Ranney joined them a year later, and with the opening of Fantastic Fritzbe’s Flying Food Factory (now Silverado) in 1976, Great American Restaurants was born. Over the past 36 years their partnership has thrived with their enthusiasm for hospitality and great food. Great American Restaurants is fun because the people take pride and love what they do.

Fresh bread and rolls that arrive on premises daily are from their own bakery, Best Buns in Arlington, VA. The bread is amazing and you must try their rolls- they are similar to doughnuts and come with a honey spread butter that melts inside of the hot roll!!

Great American Restaurants now has eleven restaurants in Northern Virginia:

Ozzie’s Corner Italian and Artie’s restaurants are located in Fairfax, VA. Artie's is always packed and parking can be tight as it shares a strip mall with a large bowling alley.

Coastal Flats has two locations: Fairfax and Tyson’s Corner in McLean, VA. Great food and a local/fun atmosphere. The Fairfax location is in the heart of Fairfax Corner with the large plaza and movie theatre.

Mike’s American Grill is located in Springfield, VA and Silverado is on Columbia Pike in Annandale, VA. These are 2 of their "flagship" restaurants that many of the locals know about.

The Carlyle Restaurant in Arlington, VA. Is a little more "upscale" than the others in the chain.

Sweetwater Tavern has three locations: Centreville, Merrifield, and Sterling, VA. Sweetwater is well-known for its pork chop dinner.

  Shaker Woods is a coveted community in Fairfax County with 137 single family homes. Shaker Woods has an active home owners association that puts on multiple events throughout the year. Shaker Woods Association and the residents host picnics, a parade, a chili cook-off, a holiday decorating contest and even an outdoor movie night.

Recently we toured a couple of them to give people a flavor for what you can find over a weekend. On Friday night we visited Whitlow's on Wilson Blvd in North Arlington. Whitlow's is a famous bar/restaurant located near the Clarendon Metro station. This past Friday they had 6 to Midnight playing great cover songs that brought the crowd to life.   On a given Saturday night on King Street in Old Town (Alexandria, VA) you can find music coming out of multiple bars. Flamenco music can be heard routinely coming from Las Tapas at 710 King Street, Alexandria VA 22314. The mood is always festive and it is one of the only bars that still allows smoking (hookahs on premise). In the video you will see the true talent of a flamenco guitarist.

   Sunday afternoon found us at Burke Presbyterian Church for their "Music on the Lawn" held for the next 2 Sundays. The Church is off of Oak Leather in Burke Centre. This was our taste for Bluegrass Music with the talented band: Herb and Hanson
