Every Easter Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial a "small" church from Vienna, Virginia: Capitol Church puts on one of the largest Easter Sunrise Services in the Metro Washington DC area. From the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in front of the reflecting pool, the pastor Amos Dodge leads thousands of people in worship on this holy day.

     I am always amazed at 2 things:

1. How many people show up... For a service that starts before 7 AM on a weekend they get GREAT attendance from people of all races, color and denominations.

2. The beauty... There is nothing like sitting there with the singing and seeing the sunrise over the Nation's monuments and being there with thousands of people as everyone takes in the beauty of the day and the moment.
