Delia's Pizzeria & Grille located in Springfield Virginia is the best kept secret in casual dining. Located off of Backlick Road near the intersection of Old Keene Mill Road and 395 it is in a small strip mall across from Brookfield Plaza. Parking can be tight in this area so make sure to arrive early for lunch. The lunch specials at Delia's brings in people from all over Northern Virginia.

     The menu at Delia's is the most comprehensive I have seen for an Italian based restaurant. Of course it is well known for its pizza. But with the large list of salads I had to try the:

 

Gorgonzola & Roasted Walnut
A mixture of young, tender field greens tossed in a Raspberry Vinaigrette. Topped with crumbled Gorgonzola, cherry tomatoes, roasted walnuts & grilled chicken

 

      This was the best salad that I have eaten in the local area. I am always a big fan of SIZE. It was large enough for 2 meals or to split with someone. The amount of chicken was very surprising as it was piled high with the field greens and walnuts.

       Next time you are in Springfield Virginia make sure you visit Delia's and try one of their famous salads.
