What is a CLUE report and why is it important when buying a home?

As any smart consumer knows it is critical to learn the history of your home prior to moving in.  A CLUE report can provide prospective home buyers with just that. Also known as the Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange, a CLUE report provides insight to any significant damages or losses the home has sustained in the past.

This can be anything from a tree falling on the house, water damage, fire damage, roof damage, etc. Much like the message in a commercial advertising "Show me the Carfax", prospective homebuyers should arm themselves with knowledge to prevent future problems arising from old issues. I provide clients of The Nellis Group these lost histories complimentary and can inform those clients of any known issues the house might have.
